RAFAEL LOPA

Rapa has been involved in development work in the Philippines for over two decades. In the 1980's, he immersed himself as a community organizer in rural villages.He served as Executive Assistant to Former President Corazon C. Aquino.In line with President Aquino’s post-presidency advocacy to address the poverty problem in the Philippines, Rapa has gotten involved in the Micro-Finance sector and has ventured into social business enterprise experiments. Aside from his involvement in MicroVentures, Inc., he also sits in the Board of ASA Philippines Foundation and the PinoyME Foundation.


 

Dr. JAIME ARISTOTLE ALIP

Dr. Alip is the founder of the CARD MRI, the 2008 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee for Public Service. Dr. Alip holds a PHD in Organizational Development in SAIDI, Manila, Philippines. He is an alumni in Harvard Business School, Harvard University having completed the 3 years OPM program.

PAOLO BENIGNO AQUINO IV

In late 2006, Bam co-founded and is currently the President of Microventures, Inc., a social business enterprise that services micro financing organizations and their clients.
Sometime in 2007, he joined the board of Rags2Riches, Inc., another social business enterprise that helps underprivileged women with livelihood projects.

Previous to these entrepreneurial activities, Bam was made Chairman of the National Youth Commission (NYC), the main youth policy-making arm of the Philippine Government from 2003 to 2006. As such, he was the youngest person in Philippine history to head a government agency.

He hosted Breakfast and Yspeak for a number of years, two shows that focused on the youth and aired on ABS-CBN’s Studio 23.  His latest show, Start-Up, a show for budding entrepreneurs, currently airs on the ABS-CBN News Channel.
Bam is also the President of the TAYO (Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations) Awards Foundation, the country’s premier youth award-giving body for youth groups.

His first publication, Young Southeast Asia, a book that focuses on young achievers in the region and commissioned by the ASEAN, is currently available in bookstores in the ASEAN.



 

MARK JOAQUIN RUIZ

Mark spent (7) years in Unilever Philippines, rising through varying positions within Customer Development. He eventually left as part of senior management in order to pursue his passions of innovation, entrepreneurship, social development, and education.

He is currently energized by companies he has co-founded, currently serving as Managing Director of Hapinoy; Founding Partner and Vice-Chairman of Rags2Riches, a social business enterprise helping a Payatas-based community create fashion-designer items from recycled rags;

Mark also founded the WhyNot?Forum, an innovation website on Inspiring Filipino Ingenuity; is currently the Chief Marketing Inoventor of an Industrial Design firm, InoventDesign; and teaches a class on Business Innovation Management in the Ateneo de Manila


 

JAIME LOPA

Jim worked for two years as project and financial analyst for Benguet Management Corporation's Agribusiness Unit, then spent (20) years in Central Azucarera de Tarlac under the Sugar Farming operations, Cane supply Operations, and Financial Controls department. He was also a member of Central Azucarera de Tarlac's Mancom & Execom for 15 years.


 

MANNY DE LUNA

Manny is an expert in demand creation/activation,developed through years of experience with multinational companies. He has served as Global manager for Winning at Point of Sale and Country Customer Activation Manager in Unilever Philippines, and has also had senior level positions in Coca-Cola, Nestle, and Colgate Palmolive Philippines.  He founded and operates his own Activation Agency, ActivAsia where he serves as President and CEO.


 

FRANCO SEVILLA

Award winning creative advertising specialist since 1985, handling a diversity of accounts, communication mediums and formats. Other career highlights includes involvement with McCann-Erickson Philippines, Avellana and Associates, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Triple-V Group, PETCO, Equitable-PCI Bank, Philippine Airlines, Department of Tourism, Dream Broadcasting, College Assurance Plan, and Gourmet Farms, Inc.


 

PERRY VILLA

Perry as 23+ years experience in Unilever Philippines in both Marketing and Customer Development. He was then General Customer Development Manager for GMA/Luzon, and has also been posted to Unilever China as Regional Manager for South China. Perry Is currently the Business Development Director of ActivAsia, Inc., a fully integrated activation agency.


 

WILLIE UY

Willie is the President and CEO of PHINMA Property Holdings Corp., the largest developer of affordable medium-rise residential condominiums in Metro Manila. He is one of the 2008 BREW awardees for Real Estate of BizNewsAsia. He also serves in the board as Director of numerous business corporations, socio-civic organizations and charitable foundations. He was past Chairman and President of the Subdivision and Housing Developers, Inc. (SHDA) and the Philippine Retirement Inc. and now sits in their Boards. He is in the Board of Trustees of Mariposa Foundation and PHINMA Foundation. His over 30 years business experience includes real estate development, treasury, finance and insurance brokering at the PHINMA Group.


 

JULIUS ADRIAN R. ALIP

Before pursuing path to Social Business, Julius used to be a part time bass player and he him self had run a Micro Enterprise engage in Whole Sale/Retail of Tropical Aquarium fish. His 9 years of experience in Microfinance Operations /Rural Banking includes Savings Mobilization, Micro and Small Enterprise Finance, Microfinance Loan Design, Business Development Services and Consultancy Works. Currently he is an Acting Deputy Director for CARD BDSFI (A member of CARD MRI www.cardbankph.com  – one of the largest Microfinance/Social Development Organization in South East Asia) He obtained his MS - International Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University U.S.A. and Bachelor of Arts degree from De La Salle University - CSB.


 

ARISTEO “Boyet” A. DEQUITO

Mr. Aristeo “Boyet” A. Dequito, is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CARD Business Development Service Foundation Inc. the fifth institution established under CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI). He has been part of the history of CARD MRI as its first staff when CARD started its operation in year 1988.

He also represents CARD MRI in seminars such as the Microfinance/Transformation Course in Bangkok Thailand, Capital Market Workshop in The Netherlands and International Workshop on Strengthening The Management on Non-Bank Financial Institution by Asian Productivity Organization (APO) in Bali, Indonesia.

He is the head of a consultancy team for Christian Children Fund Credit Program, providing technical assistance in two (2) PACAP assisted organization CRIFI in Roxas City and ASI in Albay.

Mr. Dequito is the National President of the Association of APEX Club in the Philippines, a young professional international organization originated and established in Australia in year 1931. Some of his recognitions are: Club President of the year APEX Philippines, and New Apexian of the year.

He holds a Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting.
