To bridge the digital divide, Hapinoy’s training arm, HapiSkwela, developed AI Can Work—an initiative under the AI Opportunity Fund: Asia Pacific, partnered with AVPN and supported by Google.org and the Asian Development Bank.
What began in 2025 as AI Can Do It, equipping over 12,000 sari-sari store owners with practical AI tools to streamline inventory, sales, and marketing, has expanded. In 2026, the AI Can Work initiative pivoted toward upskilling the broader Filipino workforce: employees and jobseekers who drive both organizational performance and economic growth. To date, over 13,000 participants across over 75 government agencies, private companies, non-profits, and academic institutions have begun their AI integration journey.
Practical AI Skills for Real-World Productivity
“Interested po ako matuto more about AI dahil isa na po ‘to sa pinapaaral din sa’min ng company namin at para makasabay na din po sa kung ano ang latest sa market,” stated Edralyn Demayoga, one of the AI Can Work training finishers.

The program focuses on beginner-friendly, accessible AI tools designed to reduce repetitive administrative tasks, automate workflows, summarize reports, and generate creative concepts. Learning extends beyond a single session through self-paced e-modules on Facebook Messenger, Google Classroom, and active discussion groups.
Beyond technical application, the program emphasizes responsible usage—teaching participants how to prompt effectively while safeguarding sensitive data and verifying factual accuracy.
“Nai-a-apply ko sya sa ibang tasks, at mas natuto po ako paano gamitin ang AI para makakuha ng better responses,” added Demayoga.

To maximize accessibility, sessions are delivered through hybrid formats (in-person workshops or online webinars) customized for partner needs. Existing institutional partners include the Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), TESDA, Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology, Quezon City Skills and Livelihood Foundation, Inc., PESO Muntinlupa, and various LGUs nationwide.

AI Can Work frames artificial intelligence not as a replacement for human effort, but as an essential assistant, including for incoming talent.
